A long weekend of magic in San Marino

The International Magic Festival will be back in San Marino for its 24th edition. The event, which has been a fixed appointment in the San Marino spring for years and has always been eagerly awaited by children, was presented today to the press by the creator and organizer Gabriele Merli alias Magician Gabriel. The festival will be a journey to discover the world of magic, illusionism and manipulation to amaze and entertain with a rich program of theater shows, street magic, congresses and magic school.

Minister of Tourism, Federico Pedini Amati: “The International Magic Festival is an event that the Republic of San Marino has been hosting for many years now. The show that magician Gabriel and his guests manage to build impresses young and old and we are happy to support it. By definition, magic is something that amazes and excites. I'm sure it will be the same again this year."

There will be four shows that will delight the audience. It starts on Friday 14 April at 21.00 with the Arzilli Trophy where ten magicians will compete with each other to win the coveted trophy. It continues on Saturday 15 April with two appointments: at 15.00 Close Up Gala, a magical show with greatest illusionists in the close up sector worldwide, while at 21.00 the main event of the festival, the Grand Gala of Magic which will be presented by the well-known Italian comedian and illusionist Raul Cremona and which will see the participation of artists in absolute preview for Italy and San Marino. Including Léa Kyle, the most sought-after and formidable quick-change artist in the world, Maxim, a well-known television face and currently among the best in the world in the appearance of doves out of nowhere, Zinthya who will make a ball whirl in the air, Charlie Mag, who will make hundreds of cards appear to fill the stage, Dala Illusions, a young couple specializing in great impossible illusions, Youry et Sophie with a very poetic number where a doll undergoes a metamorphosis. Finally Magica Gilly the mascot of the festival who will compete in a new surprise number in Harry Potter style assisted by her father Gabriel. Sunday 16 April at 16.30, i twill be time for the unmissable Family Show: MagiExpress is the title of the show dedicated to children and families who will spend a truly special Sunday afternoon; the children present will be given a magical coloring book designed by Elisa Della Balda.
The Kursaal Congress Center will be the location for all the shows with the exception of the Grand Gala of Magic which will take place at the Teatro Nuovo di Dogana.

New this year will be a photographic set with comic book characters thanks to the collaboration with the San Marino Comics Association. The set will be available on Saturday evening at the Teatro Nuovo and on Sunday morning at the Kursaal for a truly unique shot.

Furthermore, on Saturday and Sunday the streets of the Old Town will come alive with street magic shows; and for all those who want to try their hand at the art of magic, magician David will open the school of magic to all on Saturday morning at 10.30 at the Kursaal.
The Magic Festival is also an educational activity; during the three days of the festival from 9.30 to 19.00 there will be training and updating activities aimed at magicians with conferences and demonstrations of novelties, at the Kursaal Congress Center.

Finally, the Mental Show, the event that anticipates the Festival, is not to be missed: on Saturday 8 April at the Torraccia Aeroclub, the illusionist Gabriel will attempt to telepathically transmit an image thought by a viewer to an aviator in flight with his acrobatic plane.
