The Christmas of Wonders confirms itself as a record-breaking event

The Minister of Tourism Federico Pedini Amati spoke today at the Press Conference to introduce the first part of The Christmas of Wonders' data, specifically the record data from the last long weekend. Then, on this occasion, he announced the initiative of New Year's Eve and the project of the Treno Bianco Azzurro (Blue and White Train) which is attracting hundreds of people on the days in which the electromotive recovered by the ATBA Association is put back into operation.

The summer tourist influx data were, for long periods, the best in the last 10 years and the data from the last long weekend confirmed this trend, showing a record attendance with over 2700 hotel stays over the 3 days (8 December + Saturday and Sunday) compared to 2205 in 2022 and 1452 in 2021. In total, the tourists who reached San Marino "by road" were 25,382 compared to 22,824 in 2022 and 19,650 in 2021. Over 1,000 more passages per day on the cable car compared to 2022.

The Christmas of Wonders is the main attraction for those who decide to spend a few days in the Republic of San Marino; the Christmas of Wonders is sa well-established event that offers attractions for adults, children, families and young people and which welcomes hundreds of thousands of tourists every year. The attention of the Italian media on the event was particularly importsnt with the presence of the Italian format "Una gita fuori porta" and "Bell'Italia" which dedicated special reports to the event.

The excellent results of the last long weekend (over 420 tickets sold) have pushed NexTime Eventi, organizer of the Christmas of Wonders, to replicate the Family Show "The house of chocolate" which will therefore return next 16 December at 18.00 when, at 17.00, will also inaugurate another attraction: the House of Sweet Hearts. The House of Sweet Hearts is a light installation that enlivens and will become the venue for the shows located in Piazza della Libertà.

The New Year's Eve programme is also particularly attractive: a completely free party on Piazzale Lo Stradone with the music of LoryG Dj, imitations of Antonio Mezzancella, a comic show, bands, performers and the Showzer performance.

The reopening of the stretch of railway which allowed the electromotive restored and recovered by the Associazione Treno Biancoazzurro to be put back into motion was greatly appreciated. Over 200 people have chosen to take a step back in time by travelling along the few hundred metres of currently usable tracks. The project to extend the railway section remains at the centre of the initiatives of the Ministry of Tourism which aims to make it a unique tourist attraction in Italy.

The two exhibitions located inside the Ministry of Tourism remain open and can be visited: “I Limiti Sconfinati tra Spazio e Materia - The Boundless Limits between Space and Matter” by the eclectic contemporary artist Mirco Dellapasqua and “Presepi dal Mondo - Nativity scenes from the world” with the display of over 50 nativity scenes coming from every corner of the earth.
