Gabry Ponte in audience with Captains Regent

he artist will represent San Marino at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 scheduled from 13 to 17 May in Basel

The numbers relating to the San Marino Song Contest undoubtedly confirm the great value of an initiative that has turned the spotlights of the whole of Europe on our Republic. The show of 8 March, produced by San Marino RTV and strongly supported by the Ministry of Tourism, is the first and biggest media and television event to be held in our country.
Today, Tuesday 8 April, climbing the steps of the Public Palace, Gabry Ponte has been in audience with the Most Excellent Captains Regent; the artist will represent San Marino at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest scheduled from 13 to 17 May in Basel
Gabry Ponte is the winner of the San Marino Song Contest. The fourth edition of the music competition to select the artist who will represent San Marino at the Eurovision Song Contest took place last 8 March and demonstrated the great value of this initiative, turning the spotlight on a Republic that has gained visibility throughout Europe.

"A success, that of San Marino Song Contest guaranteed by RTV, Media Evolution and the Ministry of Tourism, made possible thanks to the professionalism of those who worked on the production and realisation of the show, by the value and notoriety of the cast and contestants and, undoubtedly, favoured by the notoriety and quality of the winner", these are the words of the Minister Pedini Amati, who underlines how the show of 8 March turned out to be the first and biggest media event ever realised in the country.
The data collected by RAI are impressive and speak clearly: the San Marino Song Contest reached half a million views on the day of the event, with an excellent performance also in terms of on-demand views on RaiPlay. Particularly significant was the interest shown on social media, with almost 6 million video views and 343,000 interactions, indicating a strong involvement of the public.
The event attracted the attention of prestigious media and numerous influencers, with a significant presence of journalists and industry professionals, contributing to extensive media coverage. This edition saw the participation of renowned artists and seasoned professionals, which significantly raised the level of the show.
With Gabry Ponte set to represent the country in Basel at the Eurovision Song Contest from 13 to 17 May, there is the certainty that the San Marino flag will continue to be held high

"Although our country's friendship with Italy is well known, solid and concrete, as witnessed by its history, political and institutional initiatives and, by way of example, also by the relationship between San Marino RTV and RAI; the flag that will accompany you to Basel will be the white and blue one, and will be handed over to you by the highest institutional office of our Republic, the Captains Regent. I am certain that you will know how to defend and enhance it thanks to the great human and artistic qualities that distinguish you", said the Minister Pedini before handing over the flag with the colours of San Marino to Gabry Ponte.

"Allow me to express today all my gratitude for the friendliness and availability that the Republic of San Marino has reserved for me. I guarantee myself and all of you, commitment and fairness. I will do and we will do our best and, whatever the outcome of the competition, it will remain for me and my collaborators a great honour to have represented this country on the prestigious stage of the Eurovision Song Contest", Gabry Ponte's emotional words in front of those present.

The Most Excellent Captains Regent, in receiving the artist in audience, recalled how "This official occasion gives us the pleasure to express to the famous musician, producer and DJ with an international profile, our heartfelt congratulations for the victory at the San Marino Song Contest 2025. Gabry Ponte and his song ‘Tutta l'Italia’ will take the stage at the Eurovision Song Contest representing the Republic of San Marino in the first semi-final on Tuesday 13 May, performing in position number 11, just after Azerbaijan and before Albania.
