The Minister of Tourism Pedini Amati meets the trade associations

 

At the center of the talks the reactivation of the Biancazzurro Train and the presentation of the Christmas of Wonders 2022. "Thanks to the help of the Italian State Railways Foundation, we will be able in a short time to equip ourselves with a new ascent installation in the UNESCO heritage area, making full use of the restoration work on the Baldasserona car park ". The fragmentation of the activation of the lights has been agreed.

An all-out comparison, to deepen all the main dossiers on the table of the Ministry of Tourism. This afternoon at the Multipurpose Room in Murata, the Minister of Tourism Federico Pedini Amati met all the trade associations in the sector, to discuss the next steps regarding the activation of the Trenino Biancoazzurro and present the Christmas of Wonders 2022, an event that will end a year full of events.

Together with him, Dr. Massimiliano Marchetti, appointed yesterday as a member of the Technical Committee for the reactivation of the BiancoAzzurro Train and Alberto Di Rosa, general manager of Nextime Eventi, a company that will take care of the realization of the Christmas of Wonders this year, after winning the tender issued by the Ministry last July.

The first part of the meeting was dedicated to the reactivation of the historic line between San Marino and Rimini: after the establishment of the Technical Committee, the next steps will concern the first activities aimed at pursuing reactivation as soon as possible, in the form of train-tramway, of the route in the San Marino territory, starting from the section already reconstructed inside the Montale Gallery. “In this small portion, as early as the end of October, it will be possible to transport passengers in complete safety - declared the Minister -. The Committee is also already working to coordinate relations with the FS Group for the feasibility study for the design of the entire route ".

As for the costs, for some considered prohibitive, in addition to the 2 million euros already allocated by the Italian Ministry of Tourism, the community path will be pursued: the European Union has in fact issued an important call for tenders for the redevelopment of infrastructures in recent days. historic buildings adjacent to the Biancoazzurro Train. “Reactivating just the stretch of ascent installations between Borgo Maggiore and the city of San Marino - concluded Pedini Amati - would generate a new tourist appeal for our UNESCO heritage sites, allowing us to make the most of the redevelopment of the Baldasserona car parks. A further positive impact would be the redevelopment of the former City Station area, which could take advantage of a prestigious tourist attraction ".

In the second part of the meeting, the presentation of the Christmas of Wonders 2022: a necessary comparison to share what will be the rich program of events and the main attractions that tourists and all San Marino citizens will be able to enjoy from 26 Novembre to 8 January. On this occasion also the issue on the lights was solved: together with the operators in the sector, having assessed the minimum increase in costs that the current energy crisis will bring, it was decided to fragment the lighting, in the time slot that will go from 4 in the afternoon to midnight .
