Giornate Medioevali – 1463 Terra Sancti Marini

Attendance on the rise

The numbers of estimated visitors who chose the Republic of San Marino as their destination during its Medieval Days increased compared to last year: 30,702 people reached the car parks on 27, 28, 29 and 30 July 2023 of the Old Town. From Thursday to Sunday, a total of 18,611 passages of the cable car service were also recorded.

This 26th edition of the event was dedicated to 1463, the date in which the Republic of San Marino reached its current territorial extension and in which, after long periods of wars and struggles, peace returned, civil life made up of markets, commercial traffic, fairs and festivals that give back to the community a daily life made up of social life and community.
1463 Terra Sancti Marini gave everyone an engaging and exciting experience, with 355 performances and shows over the four days of the festival, transforming the entire historic center into an open-air stage on which 350 reenactors, artists and jesters took turns , fire-breathers, falconers, musicians, flag-wavers, dancers and stilt walkers.

San Marino is history. History of freedom, of culture, of community. And where there is history, there is often a need to tell it to those who come from outside, with the right pride and the necessary awareness of those who want to share their past with as many people, places and cultures as possible. This is the secret of Giornate
Medioevali.
