Under the light of the Great Star, the Christmas of Wonders 2025-2026 lights up on 29 November

From tomorrow, Saturday 29 November 2025, until 6 January 2026, the Historic Centre of San Marino is preparing to welcome a new edition of the Christmas of Wonders, the major winter event which this year will feature the theme A Timeless Story. The streets and squares of the Historic Centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be decked out in sparkling lights, festive music and luminous scenery, offering a unique and engaging journey of attractions.
This year's edition will feature a spectacular scenographic installation: the Great Star, a striking light display that will make Piazza della Libertà even more iconic, promising to become the symbol of the event and the most photographed image of Christmas in San Marino.
The opening day of the Christmas of Wonderse 2025-2026 will be enlivened by a rich programme of musical shows and travelling performances that will accompany the public until the Big Star is lit in Piazza della Libertà.
From 16,00, the famous Mabò Band, a musical group known for its overwhelming energy and highly engaging performances, will officially open the afternoon. With a dynamic repertoire and the ability to interact with the audience in a spontaneous and entertaining way, the band will bring rhythm and vitality to the streets of the historic centre, starting from Via Donna Felicissima, passing through Piazza Titano and Via Eugippo, and ending in Piazza della Libertà.
Following this, the majesty of gospel will give voice to the Christmas atmosphere with the Voices of Joy, a choir capable of blending tradition, modernity and pure emotion. Through intense harmonies and a repertoire that combines Christmas classics and contemporary gospel songs, the group will offer moments of great musical charm in Piazza della Libertà, accompanying the audience towards the most eagerly awaited moment of the evening.
At 17,00, the Inauguration Ceremony will take place in Piazza della Libertà, in the presence of the institutions, a symbolic moment that will officially launch the 2025-2026 edition.
Highlights of the 2025-2026 edition
The charming the Timeless Village will come to life at Campo Bruno Reffi: inside a heated structure, children will be able to take part in a rich programme of creative workshops dedicated to making Christmas decorations, listen to animated readings and experience moments of authentic magic. Until 25 December, it will also be possible to meet Father Christmas, who will welcome the little ones for photos, stories and unforgettable moments.
To evoke the charm of a timeless era, children can enjoy the antique Mini Carousel with wooden horses, one of the most iconic attractions of the Village. The atmosphere will be enlivened by the Great Christmas Tree, illuminated by traditional Christmas lights and surrounded by the Little Train on Rails, ready to take visitors on a dreamlike journey. Completing the Village is the 6-metre-high Luminous Star, a splendid sparkling installation that will accompany visitors on an immersive journey of light and wonder.
The luminous path of the “Christmas of Wonders” continues to Piazzale Domus Plebis, where visitors will be greeted by a luminous installation, also in the shape of a star. Next to it, every day from 17,00, the façade of the Basilica del Santo will come alive with evocative artistic projections, transforming the entire area into an exciting and visually striking setting.
The warm and welcoming atmosphere of the characteristic Christmas markets along Via Eugippo and Via Donna Felicissima is back. A journey of flavours, aromas and colours where visitors can find gift ideas, handicrafts, gastronomic specialities, sweets and typical Christmas food. An unmissable event for those who want to experience tradition, rediscover the taste of craftsmanship and be captivated by the authentic spirit of Christmas.
