Discovering numismatics in Brazil, the second country in the world to adopt the stamp in 1843

Exhibition at the Stamp and Coin Museum on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of official relations between San Marino and Brazil

An itinerary that, starting from the first Brazilian stamps of 1843, presents a selection of ancient and recent philatelic values of the South American country, showing its history, natural and artistic architectural beauties, and characters.

The stamps for Anita Garibaldi, for Pelé "O Rei do Futebol" and those for Ayrton Senna, who died 30 years ago, stand out.
In addition, the exhibition will feature some of the first coins of independent Brazil and a selection of banknotes dedicated to illustrious personalities.

Also on display are documents from the State Archives such as the volume of the minutes of the Prince and Sovereign Council of 1830 in which the Republic accepts the request, made by Emperor Dom Pedro I, to be enrolled in San Marino citizenship together with his wife, the Empress consort Donna Amalia, as well as the appointment of the first Consul of San Marino in Rio de Janeiro, Pio Carvalho de Azevedo, dating back to 1924

It will also be possible to admire the stamps made for San Marino by the Brazilian artist Kobra, the last of which celebrates the 40th anniversary of official relations between the two countries and made from the great work that the master donated to the Republic.
