Record of Wonders

The Christmas of Wonders is confirmed as an important event for tourism in the Republic of San Marino. Despite a total duration of 2 days less than in 2023, the total number of people who chose the Republic during the Christmas period increased by 5.85%. In total, 157,487 people decided to spend the holidays in San Marino.

There was also a record number of cable car passengers, with 4,339 in a single day on December 15. Access to the cable car grew by 4.62% over the course of the year, with 662,322 people. Positive numbers also for access to the Old Town: 4,727 passengers on the shuttle bus connecting the Fonte dell’Ovo car park, which had to be opened on 4 different days; 8,091 people boarded the train shuttle; a total of 64,242 cable car passengers during the Christmas period.

As for hotel facilities, it is also worth highlighting the growth in the daily number of guests, compared to the same dates in 2023.

“The numbers speak for themselves – states the Minister of Tourism Pedini Amati – this is the result of the synergy of the teamwork of the Ministry of Tourism, the Tourism Board and NextTime, the company that won the tender for the organization of the event”. The Minister expressed his thanks at the conference to all the staff of the Ministry and the Tourism Board, protagonists of the success of the event.

The numbers of annual tourist flows are also growing: tourists have exceeded 2 million (2,069,421) with an increase of 2.01% compared to 2023. In particular, arrivals on board buses are increasing by 18.9% (340,245) while arrivals by car are 1,729,176 with a minimum decrease of 0.76%.
