The 1000 Miglia Returns to the Titano
for its 44th Edition
For its 44th revival, the 1000 Miglia confirms the “figure-eight” route inspired by the first 12 editions of the historic race, which is also preparing to celebrate its centenary in 2027.
THE ACCEPTED ENTRIES
The value of this “travelling museum” is enhanced by a lineup of accepted cars unlike any other in the world, featuring twenty-four pre-war Alfa Romeo sports cars. Among them, the spotlight shines on the iconic 6C 1500, 1750 SS and GS models (which dominated the race editions from 1928 to 1930), as well as the extremely rare 8C 2600 Spider Zagato “SF” from Scuderia Ferrari. Equally remarkable is the fleet of Ferraris admitted to the race, almost all equipped with 12-cylinder engines, including historic winners of the Red Arrow such as the 166 MM, 250 MM and 340 America.
The technical excellence of the lineup also extends to the powerful Jaguar C-Types, stars of Le Mans, and the Maserati contingent, dominated by the famous A6 GCS models specifically designed for sports racing. Enhancing this exclusive selection are design masterpieces such as the Fiat 8V Zagato Berlinetta, confirming the rigorous process behind the definition of the official list of accepted entries for this 44th edition.
THE 1000 MIGLIA 2026
After the traditional start from Brescia in the late morning of Tuesday 9 June, the more than 400 selected cars will head towards Val Trompia and Val Gobbia. The first stop and lunch break will take place in Lumezzane, making its debut on the Red Arrow route. The convoy will then reach Lake Garda via Val Sabbia, before continuing to Vicenza and Padua for the end of the first stage.
The second day, Wednesday 10 June, will mark the crossing from east to west. Crews will pass through Ferrara and Modena, where the lunch stop will be held, before continuing through Reggio Emilia and the Abetone Pass. The day will conclude beneath the charming Liberty-style architecture of Montecatini Terme.
On Thursday 11 June, the cars will reach Versilia, passing through Pietrasanta. Lunch will be served in the historic setting of Piazza del Campo in Siena, while Lake Bolsena and Lake Vico will greet the race before the arrival in Rome. As tradition dictates, the Eternal City will once again mark the turning point of the event.
Leaving the Capital behind on Friday 12 June, the ascent back toward Brescia will begin. Particularly significant will be the passage through Assisi, the city of Saint Francis. This year marks the 800th anniversary of the death of Italy’s patron saint. After leaving the Franciscan sites, the convoy will reach Gubbio, the medieval town hosting the day’s lunch stop, before crossing the spectacular Furlo Gorge and continuing toward Rimini. Before that, however, the traditional passage through the Republic of San Marino will take place.
Saturday 13 June, will begin with views over the Adriatic Sea. After passing through Cervia and Comacchio, the convoy will head once more toward Ferrara before reaching Mantua, which will host the final competitive lunch stop of this edition of the 1000 Miglia. After five days, 140 timed trials and passages through some of the most beautiful locations in Italy, the convoy will return to Brescia to cross the finish line on Viale Venezia, thus concluding the 44th Edition of the Red Arrow race.
THE CITY ROUTE
The 1000 Miglia 2026 convoy will enter the Republic of San Marino on the afternoon of Friday 12 June, during the final stages of the fourth stop. The first Ferrari Tribute car is expected at 16:00, followed approximately one hour later by the first historic car. One of the major new features of this edition will be the unprecedented panoramic route passing through Montegiardino, Faetano and Corianino.
From a technical standpoint, the challenge will intensify along Via Gamella, venue of the Timed Trials, at the end of which the cars will enter the area adjacent to the Fonte dell’Ovo Middle School for the Time Control, a prelude to the climb toward the Old Town. The crew winning this series of trials will be awarded the coveted San Marino Trophy during the prize-giving ceremony in Brescia.
Compared to 2025, the route through the heart of the Titano will undergo a significant change: the Old Town will in fact be driven downhill. After entering through Porta della Murata Nuova, the cars will reach the famous Piazza della Libertà for the traditional Stamp Control beneath the Palazzo Pubblico. From there, the route will wind through the charming streets of San Marino before running along the city walls and exiting the city.
The convoy will leave San Marino territory through the village of Ventoso and Via Santa Cristina, heading directly toward the stage finish in Rimini.
As for the Ferrari Tribute 1000 Miglia, the supercars will carry out their Stamp Control near Porta San Francesco; unlike the historic cars, they will not enter the narrow streets of the centre, but upon reaching the Cavallo roundabout they will take Viale Federico d’Urbino to reconnect with the main route leaving San Marino.

Federico Pedini Amati, Minister of Tourism, Posts, Cooperation, Expo, Information and Tourist Investment Attraction
“Over the past forty years, the passage of the Red Arrow through the Republic of San Marino has represented a highly appreciated tradition among competitors, particularly those from overseas countries. This passage has always been one of the best opportunities to showcase one of the most beautiful sections of the route to the many foreign participants and international media operators. The 1000 Miglia has a strong tourism vocation that leads it to promote the territories it crosses, ensuring significant media exposure for the locations involved.”
