San Marino shortlisted for the 2026 Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards

The Republic of San Marino nominated as one of the “Most Desirable Destinations”

San Marino has made the shortlist for the 2026 Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards, the annual UK awards organised by Wanderlust Magazine, one of the most influential international travel magazines.

The Republic of San Marino has been selected as one of the nominees in the ‘Most Desirable Destination’ category, thus joining the shortlist of destinations that will be put to a vote by Wanderlust readers.

This is a significant accolade for the world’s oldest Republic, which sees its uniqueness within the European and international tourism landscape recognised. The nomination represents an opportunity to bring San Marino to the attention of a vast community of travellers, who are particularly keen to discover authentic destinations rich in history, culture and identity.

The Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards are among the most prestigious accolades in the sector: in the 2025 edition, over 200,000 readers cast a total of 4.8 million votes across the various categories.

The results of the 2026 edition will be announced during a special awards ceremony to be held in London, as part of the World Travel Market (WTM), one of the leading international events dedicated to the tourism industry.

For San Marino, reaching the final stage of the Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards therefore means having the opportunity to gain a highly prestigious international platform and to further strengthen its position as a tourist destination waiting to be discovered.
