San Marino Song Contest 2026: Senhit featuring Boy George's song ‘Superstar’ triumphs in the Grand Final

The Republic of San Marino has chosen its representative for the 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. The winner of the San Marino Song Contest 2026 was the song ‘Superstar’ performed by Senhit featuring Boy George, who will represent San Marino at the international competition scheduled for 12 to 16 May in Vienna, at the Wiener Stadthalle.

The final evening took place on 6 March at the Teatro Nuovo of the Republic of San Marino, in the presence of Their Excellencies the Captains Regent Matteo Rossi and Lorenzo Bugli, the Minister of Tourism Federico Pedini Amati and the Director General of San Marino RTV and Rai, Roberto Sergio. Among those present were the Minister of Industry Rossano Fabbri and the Minister of Finance Marco Gatti.

Conceived by the Ministry of Tourism and organised in collaboration with San Marino RTV and Media Evolution, the San Marino Song Contest represents a strategic investment of increasing significance, with unique visibility that grows stronger and more incisive year after year, aimed at strengthening the Republic of San Marino's position in the European and international context. The initiative is an important driver for promoting artistic talent and an effective tool for consolidating the country's presence in one of the most prestigious international music events, the Eurovision Song Contest, generating significant economic benefits and new development opportunities for the territory, as well as extensive media coverage.

The presence of renowned artists and high-profile professionals has raised the quality of the event year after year, while also strengthening the visibility and promotion of tourism in the Republic of San Marino on an international scale.

Twenty-one finalists took to the stage in the final: 10 Big artists, 10 artists who qualified from the semi-finals and one representative for San Marino, all competing for a place in the Eurovision final.

The winner was decided by a jury chaired by Federica Gentile and composed of Roberto Sergio, Mario Andrea Ettorre, Massimo Zanotti and Beppe D'Onghia. The quality jury was made up of Iva Zanicchi, Morgan and Red Ronnie.

Second place went to Kelly Joyce.

The final evening was hosted by Simona Ventura and featured prestigious guests such as Al Bano, Elettra Lamborghini, Tommy Cash and Cristiano Malgioglio, to whom Minister Federico Pedini Amati presented the Lifetime Achievement Award. Last year, the same award was given to Al Bano, who was on stage at the Contest where he performed three of his most iconic songs.

During the evening, broadcast live on Eurovision on San Marino RTV (channel 550), Radio San Marino, Rai Radio 2 and streamed on RaiPlay, tribute was also paid to the unforgettable icon of Italian television Pippo Baudo, a great friend of the Republic of San Marino, in the presence of his son Alessandro Baudo.

Numerous awards were presented during the final: the Ludovico Di Meo Press Award to Pellegrina Pibigas, the Critics' Award and the SIAE Award to Dolcenera, the Dreaming San Marino Song Contest Risparmio Casa Award to Maya Azucena, the Titano Style Giochi del Titano Award to Rosa Chemical, and the Marlù Award to the winners Senhit and Boy George

The artistic direction was entrusted to Massimo Bonelli, with direction by Cristiano D'Alisera and set design by Marco Calzavara and Marco Lucarelli.
