from Rimini towards La Verna
A religious journey is a journey made in a conscious way; we start with the intention of discovery and cultural enrichment in addition to religious enrichment. They are journeys that fill the heart with precious memories and intense emotions to experience and share.
The Walk of Saint Francis, inaugurated on 26 September 2021, represents a link road that connects to the main route that starts from Rimini towards La Verna. The Walk of St. Francis projects the Way of our Patron Saint into an international dimension, also passing through the figure of Santo Ronconi, reconnecting him to the historic destinations of ancient pilgrimages, from Rome to Santiago Di Compostela, from Jerusalem to Canterbury.
It is divided into five stages that connect all the localities where the passage of Saint Francis is found. The Municipalities crossed, mostly part of the "Sustainable Tourism Development Project" are: Rimini, Sant'Arcangelo (detour from the route), Verucchio, Poggio Torriana, San Leo, Maiolo, Novafeltria, Sant'Agata Feltria, Casteldelci, Verghereto (fractions of Balze and Montecoronaro), Chiusi della Verna (Tuscany). As a winter variant from Balze di Verghereto, Badia Tedalda and Pieve S. Stefano in the province of Arezzo are added. The Walk of Saint Francis from Rimini to La Verna is recognized as a Walk in the Atlas of Paths of the Mibact.
