Christmas of Wonders: inauguration Saturday 27 November at 17.00

San Marino, 26 November 2021 - The Christmas atmosphere already pervades the Old Town and expectations are growing for the first weekend of the flagship event of the San Marino winter tourist season, the Christmas of Wonders. The appointment with the official inauguration, in the presence of the Minister of Tourism Federico Pedini Amati, is on Saturday 27 November at 17.00 in Piazza della Libertà, with the cutting of the ribbon and the start of the fabulous projections on the surrounding buildings that will give everyone present a truly unique experience!

This year the Christmas of wonders It will be "A fantastic work" to be lived at the most by those who will visit San Marino. There are 13 locations in the Old Town that will be set up with installations, interactive works, entertainment spaces, markets and event areas. Upon arrival, the visitor will begin their experience in a magical world where fantasy will be the real protagonist to amaze everyone, children and adults.

THE ENCHANTED FOREST (Campo Bruno Reffi) - Campo Bruno Reffi will host an enchanted forest inhabited by curious and particular characters, over a hundred trees will give life to a botanical garden in which families and children can have fun. Campo Bruno Reffi will also host a cartoon-like nativity scene carved in wood.

THE ELVES VILLAGE (Ex skating rink) - 4 elf houses will be installed and moments of active entertainment will be organized for children. You can send letters to Santa Claus and you can participate in the creation of some games and receive a small gift.

THE WORK OF ART (Piazza della Libertà) - An installation by Maestro Lunati (set designer among others of Dolce & Gabbana shows) will "break" Piazza della Libertà. Works of art will emerge from the ground reaching a height of over 3 meters. Sparkling projections and illuminations will leave all full of amazement.

SANTA’S ROCKET (Cantone della Funivia) - The panoramic terrace will host Santa’s supersonic rocket who will try to leave in order to bring gifts to all children but, in the end, he will choose to stay in San Marino.

THE LIGHT (Piazzale Domus Plebis) - A huge bright comet of over 12 meters will shine in the square next to the Basilica del Santo.

THE ICE RINK (Cava dei Balestrieri) - The Ice Rink is back in Cava dei Balestrieri for the fun of the whole family. The Ice Rink will also host some themed shows.

TRADITION (Via Donna Felicissima and Piazza Garibaldi) - In addition to traditional markets, pyramids of giant Christmas balls (over 4 meters) will be installed.

#MARLURICARICAMORE (Orti Borghesi) - The Orti Borghesi will host spaces for children who, guided by Cupid, will be able to play with bow and arrows. On 4, 11, 18, 26 December and 1st January from 16.00 to 19.00, thanks to the help of the “I Lunghi Archi” Association and the San Marino Archery Federation, they will be able to increase fundraising to donate to the Department of Pediatrics of the State Hospital of San Marino a device to supply O2 at high flows, for the respiratory diseases of the little ones.

SANTA’S SLEIGH (Galleria Cassa di Risparmio) - Santa's sleigh will be safe in the Piazzetta Titano Gallery will host Santa’s sleigh, together with Santa Claus, for the entire period of the event.

THE MARKETS AND THE GUARDIANS OF THE FAIRY TALE (Via Eugippo and Via Donna Felicissima) - Traditional markets are back: 32 Christmas huts with a wide choice of food, crafts and objects, 13 of which will be in Via Donna Felicissima and 19 in Via Eugippo where everyone can find the most suitable and most original gifts for their loved ones. The "Guardians of the Fairy Tale" will guard the markets in Via Eugippo. Decorations of the huts by the CENTRO ANCHIO Foundation.

XMAS CIRCUS (Piazzale Stazione P2 bus) - A circus tent will be installed in Piazzale Ex Stazione where spectacular events and microshows for children will be organized at specific times.

BRICKS ON THE TITANO (Kursaal) - An exhibition of collections and works built with Lego bricks will be set up at the Kursaal Congress Center on 4 and 5 December. Events and workshops will be organized at the same time. Free entry.

ITINERANT SHOWS (Streets of the Old Town) - 2 marching bands and visual and spectacular micro shows will move in the Old Town bringing joy. Two mascots (a toy soldier and a reindeer) and, of course, Santa Claus will also move around the streets!

POLAR EXPRESS TRAIN
The characteristic train on road will connect the various locations of the Christmas of Wonders to each other as well as making the connection with the various car parks in the Old Town easier.

NEW YEAR'S EVE (Piazzale Lo Stradone) - On the night of 31st December, Piazzale Lo Stradone will host a music party. LoryG Dj will play and a fireworks show is planned.

The Christmas of Wonders "A Fantastic Work" is organized by Euforika with the Artistic Direction of Andrea Prada for the Ministry of Tourism and the Tourism Board of the Republic of San Marino and it is also realized thanks to the collaboration and contribution of Cassa di Risparmio, Marlù Gioielli and of all those who are working for the success of the event.

Enter the Christmas Tale in San Marino: 27 and 28 November, 4 and 5 December, 8 December, 11 and 12 December and every day from 23 December to 6 January 2022, from 10.00 to 19.30. On 25 December and 1st January from 15.00 to 19.30.

Requirements to access Bricks on the Titano and Xmas Circus:

Based on art. 5 D.L. 188/2021, it is mandatory to show one of the following documents:
- San Marino Digital Covid Certificate, available on the electronic Health Record of all vaccinated ISS or EU Digital COVID Certificate
- AntiCovid-19 Vaccination Card;
- Antibody certificate;
- Vaccination Certificate;
- Certificate with negative result in a rapid or molecular antigenic swab test carried out at the ISS, at San Marino pharmacies, or at accredited health facilities, within the last 48 hours for antigenic swab and 72 hours for molecular swab.
