The countdown has begun for the sixteenth edition of the SMIAF - San Marino International Arts Festival: the appointment will, as always, be in San Marino’s Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, from 4 to 6 August.

An event that actively promotes performing arts, with particular attention to multiculturalism: in fact, over 300 companies have performed in the squares of the Festival over the years, coming from more than 36 countries around the world. The Festival is sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Education and Culture and is organized by the Marciamela Association with the collaboration of the San Marino Tourism Board.

Written and directed by director Liubov Cherepakhina, a teacher at the renowned Academy of Variety and Circus Arts in Kiev, Light Souls is staged by the award-winning quartet of Ukrainian mimes Dekru (winners at the World Circus Festival in Moscow and at the Festival of Clowns and Mimes in Odessa).

ARTEMAKIA in Soul of Nature
by Milo Scotton
A real Acrobatic Tale that the author and director Milo Scotton dedicates to future generations (hence the acronym S.O.N.)

In the plot we will follow the adventures of "Tim", an enterprising explorer in search of an archaic and precious treasure. The "Guardians of the Ancient Forests" will accompany him on a journey full of important themes to talk about the human impact on Nature, the relationship between man and wildlife and the missed opportunities in the fight against the beginnings of climate change.

Tim represents all of humanity, with his desire to know and explore, but also capable of ruining and disfiguring through carelessness. The show will be his training journey, for an inner growth that he will lead thanks to the encounter with ancestral spirits capable of taking any living form.

Milo Scotton, frontman of the company, currently holds a Guinness World Record, achieved during the Canale 5 record show hosted by Jerry Scotti on 11 March: he walked 10 meters on two parallel beams balanced on a ladder within 2 minutes and 18 seconds.
