The Republic of San Marino celebrates the "European Heritage Days"

A series of events on 23 and 24 September. Theme of the 2023 edition: "Living Heritage"

Next 23 and 24 September the "European Heritage Days" will be celebrated, the world European Heritage days, organized jointly by the Council of Europe and the European Commission since 1999.

In this edition, the focus will be on the theme "Living Heritage", with particular emphasis on the traditions and cultural skills that are an integral part of our heritage. In more than forty-eight participating countries, tens of thousands of events will enhance the richness and diversity of Europe's cultural heritage. This will not only promote dialogue between cultures, but also inclusion and cross-border collaboration.

The monuments and UNESCO sites of the Republic of San Marino will join this celebration by opening their doors free of charge to visitors on these two days. Cultural events, exhibitions and guided tours will be organised, suitable for people of all ages and backgrounds, all centered on the theme of "Living Heritage", including the evocative performance of the Military Band which embodies the important legacy of our country's Military Corps. These events will highlight the importance of our cultural traditions and skills, underlining their ongoing contribution to our identity.

The European Heritage Days are aimed at enhancing both our traditions and our common cultural heritage: this strengthens our sense of unity and enriches our collective understanding of the past and present by giving a sense of continuity and highlighting the variety of skills, trades and professions that contribute to preserving testimonies for future generations.
