The Walk of Saint Marinus was presented to the Holy Father

A delegation led by the Minister of Tourism of San Marino Federico Pedini Amati was received at the Vatican

The Walk of Saint Marinus, inaugurated last April and which immediately became a destination for pilgrims and tourists, was presented today to the Holy Father.

The itinerary, born from an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of San Marino in synergy with the Diocese of San Marino-Montefeltro, starts from Rimini and reaches the Republic of San Marino through San Leo, Pennabilli and numerous well-known locations in the Montefeltro area for their religious, historical, cultural, naturalistic and landscape value.

The project is part of the valorization of the Republic of San Marino as a religious tourism destination for those pilgrims looking for territories characterized by their sacred value.

The Republic of San Marino is considered, due to its history linked to the Saint Founder Marinus, a destination for pilgrimages and prayers; however it had never been codified a pre-planned itinerary that would enhance the essence of a path to follow crossing green areas, leading to visit Churches and Monasteries of absolute artistic value, universally recognized museums and historic centres, palaces, monuments, works of art, landscapes with unparalleled views and breathtaking views.

The Walk of Saint Marinus was presented today to the Holy Father Francis at the end of the General Audience scheduled in Paul VI Hall in the presence of the Minister of Tourism of the Republic of San Marino Federico Pedini Amati, the Ambassador of the Republic of San Marino to the Vatican Alessandra Albertini, a delegation from the Ministry of Tourism, a delegation from the San Marino-Montefeltro Diocese and some of the "walkers" who traced the walk.

In addition to some tributes and publications linked to the figure of Saint Marinus, the Pontiff was also awarded the diploma of "Honourary Pilgrim" of the Walk of Saint Marinus. At the center of today's General Audience is the new catechesis "Vices and Virtues" and, inevitably, a look at the conflicts that are inflaming the world.
