The Peking to Paris Motor Challenge arrives in San Marino

The more than 70 cars of the prestigious car competition will pass through the Old Towb on the morning of 20 June

The contemporary version of the prestigious car competition Peking to Paris Motor Challenge will make a stop for the first time in the Republic of San Marino on 20 June!

The Peking to Paris Motor Challenge has been one of the most fascinating and historic motor racing competitions in the world; the first edition of the epic race dates back to 1907 and its history is studded with extraordinary feats, breathtaking landscapes and unimaginable challenges.

For 8 editions, a new Peking to Paris Motor Challenge has been running that combines adventure, endurance and pioneering spirit and is an important tourist vehicle. More than 70 crews will be at the start and will pass through San Marino on the 34th day of the race.

The entrance to the territory will be on the evening of 19 June with the stop for the night at Parking 7. The following morning the passage in the Historic Centre with a stop in Piazza della Libertà before the descent to San Marino Outlet Experience.

Directing and making such an experience unique is the resourcefulness of Tomas de Vargas Machuca, patron of the Hero-Era company that organizes the event and which will arrive tomorrow in San Marino.

Poste San Marino Philatelic and Numismatic Division has dedicated a sheet to the passage of the Peking to Paris Motor Challenge trough San Marino and to the competition that reproduces an illustration with the stages of the 8th Edition of the race available in the shop in the Old Town and on the www.dfn.sm website.
