San Marino at the 17th ECTN conference in Dublin

The case study "San Marino: a smart destination accessible to all visitors" was presented yesterday

The 17th ECTN - European Cultural Tourism Network - conference has just ended in Dublin, bringing together experts, operators and public decision-makers from all over Europe to address the topic of Innovation and Sustainability in Cultural Tourism.  During the 3 days of the conference "European Collaboration Smart Tourism for Smart and Sustainable Cultural Tourism Destinations", solutions and approaches were explored for a more responsible, aware and accessible tourism, capable of enhancing cultural heritage without compromising the environment.

Representing the Ministry of Tourism and the Tourism Board of the Republic of San Marino, Alessandra Renzi presented yesterday, in collaboration with AISM (Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association), the case study “San Marino: a destination smart accessible to all visitors" classified among the finalist projects claiming the award for the category "Accessibility to Heritage, both physical and intellectual, as a component of Smart Tourism and Smart Destinations, in museums, cultural and heritage sites; Accessible Cultural Tourism (in collaboration with ENAT – European Network for Accessible Tourism)”.

The Republic of San Marino received the appreciation of the participants in the ECTN Conference for what it is doing in terms of accessibility through the establishment of a permanent inter-ministerial Technical Table, aimed at coordinating the topic of accessible tourism to create a constructive dialogue between the different organizations and stakeholders and concretely address the different accessibility needs of each individual. The coordination group was established last year on the occasion of the “Tourism for All - UN International Conference on Accessible Tourism” conference, hosted at the Kursaal Congress Centre.

The event was characterized by a series of workshops, presentations and networking sessions, which facilitated dialogue and collaboration between participants.
