San Marino lights up for the Christmas of Wonders 2024-2025
A Place of Another Time
The evocative switching on of the Christmas lights of the Christmas of Wonders 2024-2025 has taken place this afternoon at 17.00 at Porta San Francesco, entrance to the Old Town, in the presence of the Minister of Tourism Federico Pedini Amati, the Director of the Tourism Board Annachiara Sica, the CEO of Nextime Alberto Di Rosa and Simone Ranieri, artistic director of the event.
The Old Town, a World Heritage Site, has been pervaded by the typical Christmas warmth, by an atmosphere that evokes times gone by, transforming San Marino into a Place of Another Time where you can experience and rediscover the traditional Christmas.
The Christmas of Wonders 2024-2025, with the theme A Place of Another Time, wants to celebrate the charm of the past and invites all visitors to rediscover the authentic and profound essence of Christmas celebrations. An exciting journey that unites past and present, celebrating the values of family, sharing and simplicity.
The full programmme is conceived to make Christmas not just a holiday, but an opportunity to meet up and rediscover the authentic meaning that makes this holiday so special to both children and adults.
The spectacular Christmas lights, which this year descend from the Old Town to Via Gino Giacomini, will remain lit until 6 January 2025, illuminating every corner and giving moments of joy and wonder to all visitors.
The Christmas of Wonders, A Place from Another Time is ready to welcome visitors, Saturday, 30 November from 10.30. At 17:00 in Piazza della Libertà there will be the official ribbon cutting enriched by a special programme with performers and itinerant shows.
