San Marino at Expo Osaka 2025
Minister Pedini Amati: ‘We are proud to present our Country to the world’
With today's inauguration of Expo Osaka 2025, the Universal Exposition dedicated to the theme ‘Designing Future Society for Our Lives’, the international spotlight is turned on an event of global significance. The Republic of San Marino is ready to play a significant role, presenting to the world its millenary uniqueness and its future-oriented vision.
The San Marino Pavilion, conceived by the creativity of the students of the University of Design of the Republic of San Marino, stands out for the elegance of its architectural lines and its intrinsic ability to narrate an ancient identity, while projecting it towards the contemporary challenges raised by Expo. San Marino's participation is guided by the motto ‘Expanding Horizons’, a clear invitation to broaden perspectives, foster intercultural dialogue and weave new relationships, with a privileged look towards Japan, the host nation.
A special highlight will be the National Day of San Marino, set for 3 May. On that date, the Republic will be the absolute protagonist inside the exhibition site, with parades, exhibitions, and celebrations involving the delegations of the other participating countries. The solemnity of the occasion will be amplified by the visit of the Most Excellent Captains Regent, who, accompanied by the Minister of Tourism and other members of the institutional delegation, will honour the event with their presence.
The Minister of Tourism, Federico Pedini Amati, said:
‘The inauguration of Expo Osaka 2025 marks the start of a chapter of fundamental strategic importance for the Republic of San Marino. This participation is part of a long-term vision, representing the natural continuation of the virtuous path started with Expo Dubai, an experience that has consolidated the international image of our country and generated exceptional feedback. We are proud to present to the world a Pavilion that is not only an expression of our profound historical and cultural heritage, but which, embodying the concept of ‘Expanding Horizons’, is proposed as a platform for dialogue on global challenges and as a catalyst for encounters between different civilisations. Expo Osaka provides a privileged arena for intensifying international relations, particularly with Japan, and our National Day on 3 May, enhanced by the presence of our Heads of State, will symbolise the culmination of this fruitful exchange. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my warmest wishes for good work to the Commissioner General, Mr Filippo Francini, and the entire team of managers and volunteers. They are, as of today, our first ambassadors in this essential world showcase, and I am sure they will know how to represent San Marino with the passion, seriousness and professionalism that distinguish them.’
The Ministry of Tourism will follow with the utmost attention the entire duration of San Marino's participation in Expo Osaka 2025, recognising in the event an irreplaceable lever for international promotion and for the affirmation of the unique value of the Republic of San Marino in the global context.
